Tubular magnetic filters MF have a permanent magnet and EF including an electromagnet. The magnetic separators tend to be vertically inserted, by the virtue of pulverized or granulose material. These will attract and then hold onto to all parts that are ferrous and then allow the clean inert material to pass through. The filters are useful when there is a need to stop accidental intrusions of ferromagnetic material. This in turn will help stop the quality of the product from worsening and also it will not let the downstream machines to be jeopardized.

The use of the permanent magnet MF machine is preferable because of the difficulty in quantifying the amount of intrusion particles in the hourly output. The MF machine needs periodic cleaning. This is done easily by accessing the magnetic core through a turning door. The EF version is good for sites with difficult access, like a top silo.
