Tritium laboratories accumulate large quantities of Low Level Waste from items such as paper, Kim-wipes, plastics, cloths, gloves which are used in daily activities of operators and maintenance personnel. The personnel will have worked in potentially active areas and so it is assumed that their waste is contaminated with tritium even though it may not be. During the course of a year considerable waste in this category may have accumulated, some of which could be of a low enough level that it could be discharged into regular land fill, but because its activity level is not positively established it must be stored indefinitely in a low level waste facility with the costs and potential public objection that entails. Tyne has designed equipment to assess the activity of each bag of potentially tritiated waste.\u00a0\u6c1a\u5b9e\u9a8c\u5ba4\u4ece\u7eb8\u5f20\u3001\u91d1\u6e7f\u5dfe\u3001\u5851\u6599\u3001\u5e03\u6599\u3001\u624b\u5957\u7b49\u7269\u54c1\u4e2d\u79ef\u7d2f\u5927\u91cf\u7684\u4f4e\u7ea7\u5e9f\u6599, \u7528\u4e8e\u64cd\u4f5c\u5458\u548c\u7ef4\u4fee\u4eba\u5458\u7684\u65e5\u5e38\u6d3b\u52a8\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u4eba\u5458\u5c06\u5728\u6f5c\u5728\u7684\u6d3b\u8dc3\u5730\u533a\u5de5\u4f5c, \u56e0\u6b64\u5047\u5b9a\u4ed6\u4eec\u7684\u5e9f\u7269\u88ab\u6c1a\u6c61\u67d3, \u5373\u4f7f\u5b83\u53ef\u80fd\u4e0d\u662f\u3002\u5728\u4e00\u5e74\u7684\u65f6\u95f4\u91cc, \u8fd9\u7c7b\u5e9f\u7269\u53ef\u80fd\u5df2\u7ecf\u79ef\u7d2f\u4e86\u76f8\u5f53\u5927\u7684\u6d6a\u8d39, \u5176\u4e2d\u4e00\u4e9b\u53ef\u4ee5\u662f\u8db3\u591f\u4f4e\u7684\u6c34\u5e73, \u53ef\u4ee5\u6392\u653e\u5230\u6b63\u5e38\u7684\u571f\u5730\u586b\u571f\u4e2d, \u4f46\u7531\u4e8e\u5176\u6d3b\u52a8\u6c34\u5e73\u6ca1\u6709\u5f97\u5230\u79ef\u6781\u7684\u786e\u5b9a, \u6240\u4ee5\u5fc5\u987b\u50a8\u5b58\u65e0\u9650\u671f\u5730\u5728\u4f4e\u7ea7\u522b\u7684\u5e9f\u7269\u5904\u7406\u8bbe\u65bd\u4e0e\u6210\u672c\u548c\u6f5c\u5728\u7684\u516c\u4f17\u53cd\u5bf9, \u9700\u8981\u3002Tyne\u5df2\u7ecf\u8bbe\u8ba1\u4e86\u8bbe\u5907\u6765\u8bc4\u4f30\u6bcf\u888b\u6f5c\u5728\u6c1a\u5e9f\u7269\u7684\u6d3b\u52a8\u3002<\/p>\n

The equipment is based on measuring tritium outgassing rate by capturing it in a bubbler subsequently monitored in a scintillation counter. In the case of waste activity being lower than approved levels for disposal, the bag can be sent to regular landfill. This may represent significant saving. The equipment can also be used to characterize tritium contaminated waste such that personnel will become aware of which kind of waste is potentially more active and should be bagged together. This will result in increased inactive waste accumulation, and reduced amounts sent into long term storage.\u8be5\u8bbe\u5907\u7684\u57fa\u7840\u662f\u6d4b\u91cf\u6c1a\u51fa\u6c14\u7387, \u6355\u83b7\u5b83\u5728\u968f\u540e\u5728\u95ea\u70c1\u8ba1\u6570\u5668\u76d1\u6d4b\u7684\u6d8c\u6cc9\u3002\u5982\u5e9f\u7269\u6d3b\u52a8\u4f4e\u4e8e\u6279\u51c6\u7684\u6c34\u5e73\u5904\u7406, \u8be5\u888b\u53ef\u9001\u5f80\u5b9a\u671f\u5806\u586b\u533a\u3002\u8fd9\u53ef\u80fd\u610f\u5473\u7740\u663e\u8457\u7684\u8282\u7701\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u8bbe\u5907\u4e5f\u53ef\u4ee5\u7528\u6765\u63cf\u8ff0\u6c1a\u6c61\u67d3\u7684\u5e9f\u7269, \u8fd9\u6837, \u4eba\u5458\u5c31\u4f1a\u610f\u8bc6\u5230\u54ea\u79cd\u5e9f\u7269\u53ef\u80fd\u66f4\u6d3b\u8dc3, \u5e94\u8be5\u4e00\u8d77\u6253\u5305\u3002\u8fd9\u5c06\u5bfc\u81f4\u589e\u52a0\u4e0d\u6d3b\u8dc3\u7684\u5e9f\u7269\u79ef\u7d2f, \u5e76\u51cf\u5c11\u88ab\u9001\u5230\u957f\u671f\u50a8\u5b58\u7684\u6570\u91cf\u3002<\/p>\n
