Product Description<\/span> HDT – Heat deflection \/ distortion test<\/span>, where a standard sized test specimen is subjected to a bending stress, whilst the temperature is raised at a uniform rate. The temperature at which the specified deflection occurs is measured and recorded. Testing is carried out in accordance with the ISO 75 (parts 1, 2 and 3) and ASTM D648 Test Standards.<\/p>\n Vicat (VST) – Softening point test<\/span>, where a specified needle (indentor) penetrates a specifed distance into a sample with a specified load, whilst the temperature is raised at a uniform rate. The temperature at which the sample was penetrated is recorded at the Vicat Softening Temperature (VST). Testing is carried out in accordance with the ISO 306 and ASTM D1525 Test Standards.<\/p>\n The 4 Station Advanced HDT\/Vicat apparatus<\/span> allows testing of 4 samples at the same time, with an automatic cooling system, LCD display to provide automatic prompts for test procedures, calibration and results, HDT binary loads automatically calculated by microprocessor, over temperature protection, flatwise \/ edgewise sample testing, integrated calibration system.
