Application:
The Arcojet® PG 052 device is used for the pre-treatment of smaller plastic parts, especially plastic profiles
in extrusion lines, injection moulded parts, beakers and tubes before they are glued and printed. A maximum
treatment speed of approx. 15m/min. (per electrode head) can be achieved. The device can also be operated
clocked or manually.
The Arcojet PG 052 is equipped with two freely radiating electrodes which do not require any earthed
counter-electrodes. The generator generates a high-voltage spark discharge from the electrodes which is
transferred to the surface which is to be treated by means of an air current. The resulting plasma activates
plastic surfaces so that printing ink, paints, adhesives, etc. can be anchored to it.
Design:
The device comprises the semi-conductor generator with integrated transformer for a generation of
high-voltage and the electrode heads for the spark discharge. These are connected to the generator by a
hose for the fan air and another for the high-voltage cable. Both of the heads can be triggered separately,
enabling them to be used on two separate production lines. The electronics are of a modular design and the
individual modules are of a plug-in design.
The connections for the signal inputs and outputs are on connectors (industrial standard) so that they can be
controlled via an overriding system.
