The gas engine electricity generator of Eisenbeiss is a special purpose gear system for 60 Hz generator sets. The generator is capable of using the same engine as for the 50 Hz grid. The shaft speed is adapted by the gear system to be able to reach a frequency of 60 Hz. This has a single-stage spur gear units that are specifically enhanced to be suitable for ratings up to 7 MW.
