它們具有高性能且操作簡便。標準探測器在2μm到5μm波長范圍內進行了優化。擴展范圍探測器則在5μm以上的波長區域內運行。光學增強型探測器提供了反射型和折射型光學元件,以提高這些設備的收集效率。這些探測器的增強響應度和D*值,依賴于光學組件重新聚焦本可能未直接入射到探測器元件上的能量。因此,這些設備最適合用于入射能量為準直或發散的應用場景。光學增強探測器特別適合用于光纖應用。
探測器安裝在兩級、三級或四級制冷器的TO型封裝中,如下表所示。封裝中包含一個經過校準的熱敏電阻,以實現準確的溫度監測和/或溫度控制。封裝使用焊接窗口和焊接蓋進行密封,并且充入惰性氣體以提高制冷器的工作效率。
